Surrender Hill: A Substance Abuse Process Group

Recovery Hill has an adult substance abuse process group now available for it’s clients, called Surrender Hill (named by group members).

This group is NOT the primary source of treatment, but is used in conjunction with the one-on-one counseling services.

The premise

Self-Help groups have been around for a long time for one reason, they work. Though Alcoholics Anonymous wasn’t the first self-help group to be established, it certainly has become the most accomplished.

In the very early developmental stages of AA, even before it was called AA, the premise was very simple: a rules-free get together with people seeking answers for their powerlessness to alcohol. This same premise has just as much merit today than it had in the 1930’s. The power of a group of like-minded individuals with similar goals can be life changing.

If you have the tool, you might as well be using it

There are many types of self-help sobriety-oriented support groups to choose from, and all have tremendous value! They all will help you learn tools. Recovery Hill’s group goal is to get you to actually implement those tools when in times of need.

This support group is unique.

Surrender Hill is an alternative to more notable self-help groups, where many seekers experience common unfortunate situations. There is not a reading of by-laws, or committee meetings to attend. We won’t avoid hypocritical behaviors, but confront them and grow as a group! We’re not going to force your perspective to fit the rest of the groups views; instead, we want to help you find a road map that helps you in your perceived goals.

If you’re looking for a small group of like-minded people to connect with as a way to strengthen your individual therapy, this group might be right for you.

Call (916) 995-8635 or complete the contact form below, and we’ll assess if this group is the right fit for you.
